In accordance with the bylaws of Capital Area Realtors® Federal Credit Union (“Credit Union”), application for nominations is being accepted for the four (4) expiring Board of Director positions of Harold Huggins, Steve Bennetts. Rakhiya Reid and Diana Carrasco.

Consideration for Board membership is available to any Credit Union member over the age of eighteen (18) and in good standing with the Credit Union.

All members eligible to vote may make nominations for vacancies by petition signed by at least twenty (20) members. To be effective, nominee(s) must include a signed certificate with the nomination petition stating that they are agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office. Each nominee by petition must submit a statement of qualifications and biographical data with the petition.

Serving as a volunteer on the Credit Union’s Board of Directions is a great way to participate in the democracy that differentiates credit unions from other financial institutions. Members of the Board of Directors have the duty and responsibility to set the direction and manage the credit union according to the wishes of the membership and in accordance with all pertinent laws and regulations. The Board of Directors sets all policies, ensures the Credit Union maintains its sound financial condition, and decides what programs will be used. Regular meetings are scheduled on the last Friday of the month at noon.

Elections will take place at the Annual Meeting on April 25, 2025, at 11:45am at the address below.  During the Annual Meeting, the Credit Union will not conduct the election by ballot and nominations will not be allowed from the floor.
