Overview

The credit union was founded in 1971, chartered by the National Credit Union Administration. Our main sponsor was the Montgomery County Board of Realtors. Through the early stages of growth the credit union offered only savings accounts and small loans. With steady growth, car loans as well as checking accounts were added to the list of financial services being offered. In the mid 1980's the credit union was located on Piccard Drive in Rockville.  In August 2002 the credit union moved to its current location at 105A W. Edmonston Drive in Rockville, right next door to Wintergreen Shopping Center.

Today, the Capital Area Realtors Federal Credit Union ( CARFCU) boasts over 1,100 members with an asset base of over 11million dollars. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..
